Banana Splits, Balloons and Breakfast

~ the calm after the storm ~
~ glee! ~
~ team building and creating for next year's curriculum (treasure maps) ~
~ sprinkle and sugar highs for a surprise breakfast ~
~ pretty and giddy ~

So what you have to know before watching this (below) is that for the last approx. two months the kids have all had a tutor that taught them poetry and literature. She is absolutely an incredible teacher. The kids adore her and so do I. Also, my son has only been "into dancing" for the sum total of about the last 24 hours.

But the question was "What did you like that your mother taught you this year?"

Here's their answer:
After trips to New Zealand, South Africa, a requested three months of study on human anatomy, countless hours of reading and elective classes they loved...

Their answer was: "That day I was learning about microscopes." (That was with their Dad.) and
"No, nothing."

It cuts off abruptly at the end because I was laughing so hard.

Good thing I had fun this year. : )

This is a great post! I love that none of the children are brimming with memories of all they've learned. That's SO how kids are. And they aren't upset that they can't think of anything they liked learning - just "Nope. I've got nothing for ya." So funny! :-)

I love how they laugh histerically when you suggest that their favorite thing might be their teachers!

I know I shouldn't say this, but their reply to your question makes me feel SO much better (it's easy to read your blog and feel inadequate!). xx

Miranda, I'm so sorry you feel that way. I think you are a lovely, wonderful mama and lady.

Kari - I specifically knew you would appreciate and love this one. : )

My friend and I who coach and teach together keep laughing about this over and over.
