My {Mother's Day} Gifts To Myself ~ Here We Go!

I'm going to do this and see if it kicks the new cycle of migraines I've been plagued with. I just couldn't face another round of elimination diets - but this sounded approachable. (I'm tracking with Heidi, too, and she is super, super inspiring.)

I'll be meeting friends to run every weekday morning at 5:30 am and 6:30 am on Saturdays.

And I'm hoping to register soon for this to do the half in the autumn with a life-long friend.

I am also posting updates here if you want to track with me - I'd love to know if you are on dailymile, too.

I also get to spend all day tomorrow having a day off and making art. I am so excited!

Happy Mother's Day!

"Although it has come to be derided as the ultimate Hallmark holiday, Mother's Day had nobler beginnings. In the aftermath of the bloody Franco-Prussian and American Civil wars, abolitionist Julia Ward Howe - author of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and a mother of six - wrote a stirring appeal to mothers worldwide to protest having their sons taken from them to "unlearn all that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy and patience.
Her Mother's Day Proclamation gave birth to annual mothers' meetings in Boston, where women strategized how to make the world a better place for their children. Howe's "mothers' days" were not designed to congratulate mothers, but to recognize the true power of their role.
