Thank You For... June 1st

~ for sweet friends that teach me a lot ~

for a faithful husband
for fresh blueberries, sweet Mediterranean dates and salty cashews
for groceries in my fridge and a sort-of-in-my-head menu plan feeling of organization
for kids planning poetry surprises and a chance to lay down on the couch
for patches of blue sky
for a run turned into something more precious
for friends - good, kind, generous friends
for ten days until a cast comes off
for books-on-their-way excitement
for a phone to text my husband
for the "yes ma'am" when I asked for help with the recycling
for a kiss for me after she got her breakfast and her "i love yous" all day long
for hope
for the big basics: a home, nutrition, health, heat, water, love
for goodbye - and welcome - home kisses
for summer warmth that's bound to come
for having psalms read to me two nights in a row as I fall asleep
for colour
for the bunny in our yard every day now
for basil (I love basil)
for listening and non-defensiveness
for date trades
for a day to catch my breath, get on top of things & rest
