Fall Down Seven Times...

.... Get Up Eight.   ~ Japanese Proverb

Colours and textures and quiet and time...

... all soothing and important when the world looms so large.

Some mornings you just have to go slow and be thankful for  peace.

For life.

"Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon.  A happiness weapon.  A beauty bomb.  And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one.  It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air.  Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas.  And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight.  Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in.  With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest.  And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination."

  ~Robert Fulghum

What a beautiful blog! I read a re-post that Jamie put up over at Simple Homeschool and thought, "Man, I've missed Misha over here! I think I should go and pay her a visit." After being here today...I think I should stay! ;0)

I love your blog; you blend art and words so beautifully. On a very practical note, I would love to know where you found this Advent wreath that now seems to be marching toward Easter...I love this!

I love this post! I love you teaching your son how to knit (it's a feat I've yet to overcome!) and I LOVE that quote by Robert Fulghum. I shall be stealing it! ;)

Teri - Thank you! : )

thoughtsinterrupted (which btw is The Best Description ever for a mother's life I know! : ) ) - Thank you and yes, isn't that wreath lovely!? Ann Voskamp's son - she writes at holyexperience.com - makes them. She has a link (maybe on her most recent Lent post?) where you can order them. We love ours and it creates such significant intentionality as a family.

Karisse - he is whipping out knitted wool "cuffs" that are so cool (instead of bracelets.) I seriously love them. : ) - And yes, I love that quote, too. It reminds me of Bob Goff's balloons! : ) (Have you seen those?)

Yes I agree with all of the above: the colours, the quote, the knitting, the all of it! Just beautiful.
