A Crucible Of Learning

In the enveloping loss
In the sharp crush of no words
In the friction of commitment

I wait for each choice
I make
one pearl
at a time
on the strand - the collection
my heart, my decisions before you

In the buriedness of same
In the death to clutched dreams
In the remembering your words

I wait for your work
in me
one stone
at a time
on the strand - the collection
of my gifts, given back to you

In the silence of your presence
In the absence of your comfort
In the deep well of loneliness

I wait for each word
from you
one jewel
at a time
on the strand - the collection
of my lifetime, broken here by you

"The one who takes notice of the sins of others, he hasn’t even begun to repent."
