Speaking Of Jewels

I read the kids a story about the history of Saint Nicholas this morning. We were talking about the mystery and magic of giving without credit. About how the legend of Santa started and how we can all participate in that kind of giving.

Somehow it also ended up being a conversation about what kind of presents women tend to like. (It was quite the chat.) I answered a few questions about that, they shared some opinions and we all paused for a second to think and ponder.

Suddenly Buddy exclaimed from his heart: "When I grow up for Christmas I am going to give my wife a whole box of jewelry every year!"

Sissy and I stared at him struck utterly silent in genuine approval and admiring awe.

After a split second, though, Sissy beat me to it: "Uhm, can you start doing that now for me? Just to give you some practice?"

This is utterly perfect! Can we set something up for him and Olivia in about 10-15 years? ;)
