My Weaknesses

The most powerful and lasting change-agent I have personally experienced is kindness. But today. Today is antibiotics, husband leaving, flat out work, my to-do list of cleaning, being, giving, saying, loving, blessing, being, remembering, reading, teaching, thanking, touching, choosing... and in it all the beauty, joy, kindness, life, running, all feels far away and bedecked under layers of heavy down.

Laundry, bathrooms, meals, play dates, due dates, complications, interrogations, directions, prayers, full-full-full. I just ache for peace. Stillness. Time. To just gather up my priorities and me.

I can do encourager, teacher, mother, listener... many other wonderful roles, but kindness - time to gather kind words - in the midst of all of life, shows my weaknesses.

A friend sent me a quote:

"I have called you to walk with me down paths of peace... I have chosen you less for your strengths than for your weaknesses, which amplify your need for me. Depend on me more and more and I will shower peace on all your paths."

~ Sarah Young

"Amplify your need for me." All of life amplifies. And today I am hearing it loud and clear.

Let my weaknesses be amplifications for kindness from another dimension.

This post is part three of four parts about a new teaching style I am learning, kindness, prioritizing and a great book.

Thanks so much for stopping by my place. Love the Sarah Young quote--it took me about twelve years of homeschooling to realize that truth. Such grace in simple kindness. Hope you're feeling better. Blessings.
